Ritz-Carlton Landings Weddings

Ritz-Carlton Landings Weddings

One of our favorite places to shoot is Lake Oconee. From intimate twelve attendee wedding to Sandy Creek Barn, we love shooting at the lake. Last weekend we were lucky enough to shoot another wonderful and cultural event out at the lake. I’ll have so much more to share from the Christ Our King and Savior ceremony to the gorgeous Ritz-Carlton Landings reception in the weeks to come. For now enjoy this emotional father first look at the Ritz-Carlton Lake Oconee Cottages and stunning moment in front of Christ Our King and Savior.

Multicultural Wedding Agnes Scott College

Fall Weddings

Fall at Agnes Scott College makes for a stunning place in the city of Atlanta to have an indoor-outdoor multicultural wedding. We were lucky enough to photograph Andrew and Sheril’s multicultural wedding inside the Julia Thomas Smith Chaple, a place we have yet to photograph at Agnes Scott!

Wedding Details

We learned in the early planning stages that Sheril would be incorporating Indian and American traditions throughout the day! She had three dress changes and two of her gowns came directly from India. Be sure to check out Drew’s face as he sees his bride for the first time in her American gown. Yeah, my jaw dropped as well, Drew! Sheril’s American gown was flawless.

The reception details were beautifully put together by the team at Park Avenue Events.  I love how they added just a bit of Indian flair to their details. The Cake Hag creation covered with luscious pink roses accompanied and the table covered with fruit, a tradition in the Indian culture. The bride and groom offered two dining options at the reception. Check out the adorable elephant, adorn with gorgeous flowers on the Indian cuisine table. Her flower arrangement expertly created, by The Perfect Stem were stunning and succulents lined the lovely gold runners on each table.

Published

This splendid day was published on the Celebration Society website and for a peek at a few different images, head over to their website to check it out. The Celebration Society is a wonderful resource for brides and grooms full of advice, creative decor, tips, and top-notch vendors! Interested in seeing more of these lovebirds? Take some time and check out their sun-drenched  Lullwater Park engagement session. We even did a few nighttime images for an extra bit of flair.

Ritz Carlton Sandy Creek Barn

Ritz Carlton Sandy Creek Barn

This weekend’s wedding at the Ritz Carlton Sandy Creek Barn, in beautiful lake-living-fashion, the sun bestowed all its favor on us as it faded into twilight. It’s times like this that I struggle with being an artist and serving my clients well. With timelines being what they are, clients are usually eating dinner during sunset. In most cases, I simply leave the choice to join me for an image up to the client; however, I would say my approach in asking said question leads my clients in the right direction. I say, “this image will haunt me if I don’t give-it-a-shot.” 😉 Most of the time clients are ready to move the moment they hear my pitch. Thankfully Molly and James had time for drinks and to enjoy most of their dinner just as dusk was upon us. While we were shooting, I decided to show the back of my camera to the two of them and they thanked me for asking them to give these image a chance. Molly looked at the back of my camera and exclaimed, “that looks fake!” I burst into laughter at one of the best quotes of the day! I love my job.

Seconds to Set Up

Because I wanted to be sure my client enjoyed dinner with their guests, we only had a few seconds to capture this beautiful shot at sunset. Bowie and I ran, literally, ahead of Molly and James to test this shot. We were able to get a few poses before the sun completely disappeared. Can you believe Mrs. Molly’s unbelievable Francesca Miranda dress? Stunning!

Starry Nights and Starry Eyes

The sun was not the only star that made an appearance on this beautiful wedding day; the stars were out and aligned for true lovers. I was happy to finally successfully shoot a long exposure image.  We love working with Morgan at the Ritz Carlton Sandy Creek Barn and look forward to working with such a wonderful team in the near future.

Grand Hyatt Buckhead Wedding

The Grand Hyatt Buckhead Wedding

Ah, the Hyatt. It’s honestly my favorite place to shoot in Atlanta. I love the rooms, the views and of course the huge chandelier in the main lobby. It’s such a beautiful place but the real reason I love working at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead is the staff. Everyone at the Hyatt is so nice and willing to help, even if it’s not part of their regular jobs. I have had bellmen chasing down people I needed quickly and with great happiness. You don’t find that kind of work ethic in every Atlanta hotel, that’s for sure. And have I mentioned the food? The head chef at the Hyatt is one of our past clients. I have been lucky enough to eat dinner at his house and at the Hyatt. I love this location and it was the perfect location for this classy and creative Jewish bride and groom’s wedding day!

Indoor and outdoor beauty

One of the other reasons I love the Grand Hyatt is that it has a lovely outdoor Japanese garden and a terrace for a garden feel in the middle of the city. This bride and groom had their ceremony inside and the reception in the main ballroom, so we decided to shoot their first look in the Japanese garden! Check out all the images below!
