“The only way we will survive is by being kind. The only way we can get by in this world is through the help we receive from others. No one can do it alone, no matter how great the machines are.” Amy Poehler
I (Sharon) moved from Savannah to North Georgia to attend college. I met Bowie at my first job in a new city. Bowie busted through the door and instantly met my gaze. I’ll never forget the look on his face; a slight embarrassed grin as he was late on his first day. That moment, seeming so mundane, was the beginning of our lives together. I later joined Bowie at Piedmont College and explored the exciting fields of Graphic Design and Photography. Bowie had established himself as a leader in Mass Comm with a focus in Documentary Films. As time passed, my passion for design and photography grew as did my love for Bowie. We were married at Piedmont College in June of 2004.
After graduation and working in the corporate world, Bowie and I grew tired of our conventional jobs. We longed to be together and desired to do something worthwhile. Our background in photography, and passion for capturing emotion, lead us to the world of weddings. We shot our first wedding together in 2009 and the rest is history!
Our style is classic with a bit of flair. We want our images to outlive trends but we also like a taste of glamor. Bowie’s background in documentary film making shapes the story in front of his lens. However, my design education influences the way I approach each shot. We may have a different approach, but our end goal is the same; to capture a glimpse into your love, lives and connections.
Take a deep breath. Enjoy every second of this amazing process. Eliminating stress on the front end is essential to our process and we have developed a technique that works. Hire creatives that complement your personality. Don’t give in to the trends of today; it’s your wedding and should reflect your unique style and personality. After 12 years of marriage I can confidently say, the only trend that matters is love.
